I’m a home chef who’s been on quite a ride—one that took a sharp turn in 2020 when I became diabetic while pregnant with my first child. Before all that, I was deep in the kitchen scene, working in restaurants and honing my craft. Though I never went to culinary school, I learned everything on the job—from opening pubs to becoming the youngest executive chef at age 20 for a major national business right in Maryland.
When life threw diabetes my way, I had to reinvent how I cooked and ate. I didn’t want to give up the flavors I love or the recipes I’ve been perfecting my whole life. While my recipes aren’t always labeled as “diabetic-friendly,” they’re creations I’ve nurtured over the years—tested, tweaked, and enjoyed in kitchens both commercial and at home.
I started TheSweetToothDiabetic.com because I believe that managing diabetes doesn’t mean sacrificing the joy of good food. I’m here to share those recipes that have carried me through decades in the culinary world, with a few twists here and there to help keep life sweet, even with a few extra challenges.
TheSweetToothDiabetic.com is a space for anyone who’s ever felt that managing diabetes shouldn’t mean missing out on the pleasure of good food. Here, I share my personal recipes, culinary adventures, and the occasional kitchen mishap—with a smile and a laugh. I hope you’ll find something here that inspires you to cook, experiment, and most importantly, savor every bite.
Thanks for stopping by, and welcome to the journey.
Cheers,
Jenna
