Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup cilantro
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 jalapeno
  • 28 oz tomatoes canned or fresh
  • 1 red onion
  • 3 Tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp cumin

Instructions

  • Start by roughly chopping the cilantro, garlic, jalapeno, tomatoes, and red onion. You don’t need to be too precise here since everything will go into a food processor or blender
  • In a food processor or blender, combine the chopped cilantro, garlic, jalapeno, tomatoes, and red onion. Pulse a few times until everything is well combined but still slightly chunky. If you prefer a smoother salsa, blend it for a few more seconds
  • Once your vegetables are blended to your desired consistency, add the lime juice, salt, sugar, and cumin. Give it a few more pulses to incorporate the flavors
  • Now, it’s time to taste your salsa! If you like more heat, add another jalapeno or some of the seeds. For more tang, add extra lime juice. Adjust the seasoning to your liking
  • For the best flavor, let the salsa chill in the fridge for about 30 minutes before serving. This helps the flavors meld together. But if you’re in a rush, you can definitely serve it right away
