Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Hot Water
  • 2 Tbsp Sugar
  • 2 1/2 tsp Active Dry Yeast
  • 3 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 Cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, dissolve sugar in hot water. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • Add flour, vegetable oil, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a rough dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 3 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 45 minutes in a warm place.
  • Punch down the dough, shape into a loaf, and place in a greased loaf pan. Cover and let rise for another 45 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the loaf for 25 minutes, until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.
  • Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
