In a large bowl, combine 1 lb of ground beef, ⅓ cup of bread crumbs, 2 teaspoons of ketchup, 1 teaspoon of mustard, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, ½ teaspoon of garlic powder, and ½ teaspoon of onion powder. Use your hands to mix everything together until it’s evenly combined.
Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape each one into a patty. These should be about ¾-inch thick.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a little oil if needed. Place the patties in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until they’re browned and cooked through.
Once the patties are browned, reduce the heat to low and pour in enough gravy to cover the patties. You can use either store-bought gravy or make your own. Simmer the patties in the gravy for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Serve your Salisbury steak hot, spooning extra gravy over the top for a rich, satisfying meal.
