Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/3 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • As needed gravy store-bought or homemade

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine 1 lb of ground beef, ⅓ cup of bread crumbs, 2 teaspoons of ketchup, 1 teaspoon of mustard, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, ½ teaspoon of garlic powder, and ½ teaspoon of onion powder. Use your hands to mix everything together until it’s evenly combined.
  • Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape each one into a patty. These should be about ¾-inch thick.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a little oil if needed. Place the patties in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until they’re browned and cooked through.
  • Once the patties are browned, reduce the heat to low and pour in enough gravy to cover the patties. You can use either store-bought gravy or make your own. Simmer the patties in the gravy for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  • Serve your Salisbury steak hot, spooning extra gravy over the top for a rich, satisfying meal.
